Former Pakistan's women captain Sana Mir has stated that she "will not be able to participate" on the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) management committee.

After Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's consent, Najam Sethi took over as head of the management committee on Wednesday.

The government, led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), established a 14-member committee headed by Najam Sethi to monitor PCB operations during the 120 days preceding the election term stated in the 2014 constitution.

Najam Sethi is the management committee chairman, including Shakil Sheikh, Gul Zada, Aized Syed, Tanvir Ahmed, Gul Muhammad Kakar, Ayaz Butt, Nauman Butt, Shahid Afridi, Shafqat Rana, Haroon Rashid, Sana Mir, Mustafa Ramday, and Chaudhry Arif Saeed.

Sana, who recently became an independent director of the Federation of International Cricketers' Associations (FICA), was selected for the committee.

However, the cricketer-turned-commentator has declined the role for the time being, as she wants to contribute through her position in FICA and commentary.

The management committee will simplify PCB operations for at least 120 days before the elections following the 2014 PCB constitution, which the Ministry of Law has already ratified with a few minor adjustments.
