Former Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed has thrown his weight behind Mohammad Amir's return to the national side, impressed by the left-armer's stellar performance in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.

While talking to a local news channel, Sarfaraz emphasized the value Amir brings to T20 cricket., expressing his confidence in his abilities.

“The inclusion of Mohammad Amir has made a big difference. He has been bowling really well and has a lot of experience of playing T20 cricket,” Sarfaraz said.

“I have always told Amir that he can still play for Pakistan since he has a lot to offer. He can be useful for Pakistan but it depends on Amir how he sees his future with the national team,” he further added,

Sarfaraz also cautiously assessed his team's performance in PSL 9, acknowledging their promising start with two consecutive wins.

“It is too early to say anything but we have a good team combination and, if we continue playing like this, the team will get good results,” Sarfaraz said.

Regarding his replacement as captain by Rilee Rossouw, Sarfaraz conveyed his relaxed demeanor and satisfaction with Rossouw's leadership.

“I’m relaxed and enjoying the game. Rilee Rossouw is leading the side really well,” he concluded.
