Abbottabad and Rawalpindi have been chosen as the venues for 24 matches of the 50-over-a-side President’s Cup, which will take place from April 24 to May 12.
Seven prominent departments of Pakistan will participate in this cricket tournament. The teams include Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Pakistan Television (PTV), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Higher Education Commission (HEC), and Ghani Glass.
The tournament will follow a single round-robin format, where each team plays against every other team once. After the completion of 21 league matches, the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals.
The teams will be led by Ahmed Shehzad for WAPDA, Usman Salahuddin for SBP, Rohail Nazir for KRL, Moeez Ghani for Ghani Glass, Mohammad Huraira for HEC, Shamyl Hussain for PTV, and Saud Shakeel for SNGPL.
A total prize money of PKR 2.5 million is at stake in the tournament, with the winning team set to receive PKR 1.5 million along with the championship trophy.
