Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the match against Lahore Qalandars due to a persistent groin injury, vice-captain Asif Ali will continue to lead United in Shadab's absence.

Young pacer Zeeshan Zameer and top-order batter Colin Munro are also not available due to the injuries.

Earlier it was reported that Shadab's availability in today's match against Lahore Qalandars will be decided on the basis of the medical report.

The 23-year-old picked up a groin injury in the game against Karachi Kings. He was ruled out of the match against Peshawar Zalmi.

It must be noted that United are sitting at fourth on the points table and are only one win away to cement their place in the final four.

Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the knockout stage after Multan Sultans thrashed Quetta Gladiators yesterday by 117 runs. Sultans will finish in the top two regardless of their last match result of the league stage.
