On his debut for the Colombo Strikers in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan achieved a hat-trick against the Kandy Falcons on Tuesday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Shadab dismissed Wanindu Hasaranga, Salman Ali Agha, and Pavan Rathnayake to complete his hat-trick, ending with impressive figures of 4/22.
The Strikers, led by Thisara Perera, batted first and posted a total of 198/7. Sadeera Samarawickrama was the top scorer with a quick 48 off 26 balls, while Perera contributed 38 from 30 balls. Shadab added a crucial 20 from 17 balls, and Chamika Karunaratne hit a brisk 25 off 10 balls.
In response, the Strikers bowled Kandy Falcons out for 147, securing a 51-run victory. Alongside Shadab's performance, spinner Dunith Wellalage also shone, taking 4/20.
Following his hat-trick, Shadab expressed his gratitude on X (formerly Twitter), posting "God is great" along with his match statistics.
