Pakistan Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is happy with the inclusion of left-arm pacers Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir in Pakistan’s squad for the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2019 World Cup.

Afridi believes he will benefit from the experience of Riaz and Amir, which will eventually help the team in the mega event.

"It's good for us and the team to have them back as they are very senior and experienced players. They have played a lot of cricket around the world and for Pakistan,” said Afridi. “It's good for me, as this is my first World Cup, to have very senior players alongside me in the bowling attack."

The 19-year-old feels the five-match one-day international (ODI) series against England has adequately prepared him and the Pakistan team for the upcoming World Cup.

"We have already played a full series against England so we already feel ready for the World Cup,” he said. “It was a tough series for our team as were playing against the number one side in the world at home. But we learnt a lot and it was good preparation because the big stage is coming."

Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against West Indies on Friday at Trent Bridge.
