Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi revealed his team’s aspirations for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia, starting from December 14 in Perth.

Afridi shared his thoughts and optimism during a media interaction preceding their first practice session in Canberra on Sunday.

Afridi commenced by extending recognition to David Warner, the accomplished Australian opener, applauding his remarkable career achievements across all cricket formats.

"We would wish him [Warner] good luck but not hoping for a good end for David Warner in his last Test series against us," Afridi said.

"This is an important series for Pakistan as we are leading the World Test Championship's point table at the moment," he added.

Having squared off against the majority of the recently unveiled Australian squad, Afridi conveyed the team's readiness for the impending challenge.

"We have played against the recently announced Australia's 14-member squad, and we are all up for this challenge," he said.

Pakistan will take on Prime Minister’s XI in a four-day match at Manuka Oval in Canberra, starting from December 6.

"We don't have much experience of Canberra, but I am sure this four-day match against PM XI will help us prepare well for the series against the home team starting from Perth," he added.
