Pakistan's pace sensation, Shaheen Afridi, has been making headlines following a tense exchange with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf during Pakistan’s tour of England, right before the World Cup.

In response to the controversy, Shaheen posted a cryptic message on his X account, featuring a video of him bowling to Misbah-ul-Haq during a net session in England, where Misbah is participating in the World Championship of Legends 2024.

The left-arm pacer captioned the video with "Rise above" and an eagle emoji.

The incident that sparked the controversy occurred during a practice session at Headingley.

Reports indicate that Afridi’s behavior was deemed inappropriate by the coaching staff and board officials, prompting potential disciplinary action. The clash began when Mohammad Yousuf criticized Afridi for bowling too many no-balls. Afridi responded curtly, asking Yousuf to refrain from interrupting his practice, leading to a heated argument between the two.

In the aftermath, Afridi was reprimanded by team management and later apologized to Yousuf in front of the team, leading to the matter being settled.

However, sources suggest that Afridi's conduct might affect his selection for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh, with the possibility of two to three senior players also being rested.
