Pakistan team is currently under strict quarantine in New Zealand after seven members of the squad tested positive for Covid-19.

According to sources, the most likely reason behind players contracting the virus was the use of a commercial flight as compared to a chartered plane.

Some members of the Pakistan squad, mostly Shaheens, travelled to New Zealand in the economy class while the senior members were part of the business class.

Sources believe that two of the Shaheens’ players, who tested positive, were responsible for transmitting the virus to other members of the touring party as they were seated with general public during the flight which increases risk of getting infected.

The Pakistan squad is also currently under mental stress as the chances of more players testing positive for the virus can’t be ruled out. Also, the positive cases has meant that the team members won’t be allowed to train in small groups after their third day in isolation.

Sources also added that the team management is unhappy with the members of the squad for leaking the names of players who tested positive for Covid-19.
