Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has said that Pakistan cricket has benefited greatly due to the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Afridi–who holds over 500 wickets for Pakistan in international cricket—has said that PSL has significantly improved the performance of Pakistan cricket team while also improving the confidence of the players.

“It is clearly evident that PSL has resulted in a marked improvement in the standard of Pakistan cricket and the performance of players,” Afridi said during the launch event of Pakistan Super Boxing League.

He added: “If the players are given confidence, they can turn out to be great performers.”

Shahid Afridi played for Peshawar Zalmi in the first two editions of PSL before switching to Karachi Kings for the third edition.
