Malik has won his 14th title in his T20 career as Jaffna Kings beat Galle Gladiators by 23 runs to clinch the Lanka Premier League trophy

Former captain of Pakistan Shoaib Malik, at the age of 39, has won his 14th title in T20 cricket after Jaffna Kings beat Galle Gladiators by 23 runs in the Lanka Premier League final.

Malik faced off against Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Hafeez who featured for Galle Gladiators in the final of Sri Lanka's domestic tournament.

Having already played a pivotal role throughout the campaign, Malik scored 23 off 11 balls which propelled Jaffna Kings' total to 201-3. Although Malik remained wicketless, he only conceded 12 runs from his three overs.

Most Titles in T20 Cricket

This is Shoaib Malik's 14th career title in T20 cricket as he remains one of the most iconic players in the shortest format of the game. He is now only two titles behind West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and one behind other West Indian Kieron Pollard.

Next up for the veteran all-rounder is the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where Malik will be part of Peshawar Zalmi's squad, who remain desperate to return to their winning ways once again.
