Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has praised Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, after the latter’s commanding batting display during the ongoing second Test against South Africa in Rawalpindi.

Babar, along with Fawad Alam, steadied Pakistan’s ship with a century stand for the fourth wicket. The duo got Pakistan out of a precarious situation, having lost three wickets in the morning session, after having won the toss and deciding to bat first.

Hogg was particularly pleased with the way Babar tackled spinner Keshav Maharaj, who had picked up two wickets during the first session.

“Babar Azam showing his true class, not allowing Maharaj to dictate terms by being more authoritative with his footwork,” Hogg tweeted.
