Sohail Tanvir, Asif Ali set to feature in CPL 2020

The tournament is scheduled to run from August 18 to the September 10

Pakistan all-rounder Sohail Tanvir and middle-order batsman Asif Ali will feature in the upcoming season of Caribbean Premier League (CPL), after being picked up in the draft held on Monday.

The six CPL franchises selected their teams for the 2020 edition, which is scheduled to run from August 18 to the September 10.

The draft was carried out remotely and the six teams have successfully filled out their rosters with, both, Caribbean and foreign players with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, Australia’s Marcus Stoinis, New Zealand’s Ross Taylor, India’s Pravin Tambe and West Indies’ Carlos Brathwaite all being roped in.

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots drafted in Tanvir, who has featured regularly in the CPL over the past few years, while Ali was snapped up by Jamaica Tallawahs.
