First Test starts on January 26 in Karachi
Pakistan Head Coach Misbahul Haq believes that the upcoming Test and T20I series against South Africa will not have an impact on his future.
While speaking during a virtual press conference ahead of first Test in Karachi, Misbah said that his sole focus on ensuring that the team does well in their next assignment.
“I don’t think that [future as head coach] has anything to do with the South Africa series. I have always played cricket under pressure and you have to perform. You can never have any security or assurances,” said Misbah.

He also admitted that the team’s performance has not been satisfactory in the recent past.
“I’m not satisfied with the team’s performance and want to improve on that, obviously. Our entire focus is on the upcoming series and so we are on concentrating on other [speculations about coaching staff] thing,” he said.
It must be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Cricket Committee will review the team’s performance after South Africa’s tour of Pakistan concludes. Sources believe that the upcoming series is the last chance for Misbah-led coaching staff to put the team on the right track.
