Texas Super Kings and South Africa fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has been ruled out of the remainder of MLC 2024 due to a low-grade left side strain.
The 23-year-old sustained the injury during TSK's tournament opener against the Los Angeles Knight Riders, where he recorded figures of 1 for 28 from his four overs.
TSK has yet to announce a replacement for Coetzee and chose to bring in veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for their next match, which was washed out against Washington Freedom.
Coetzee has approximately a month to recover fully before his next commitment, a Test tour of the West Indies.
He has been included in a 16-member squad for this series. The first Test is scheduled to be played in Trinidad starting August 7, followed by the second Test in Guyana beginning on August 15.
