Aamer Yamin has been named as the side’s skipper for the remainder of the National T20 Cup
Sohaib Maqsood, who is part of Pakistan’s upcoming T20 World Cup squad, has decided to surrender the captaincy of Southern Punjab to focus on his batting, during the ongoing National T20 Cup in Rawalpindi.
This decision was announced before the Balochistan versus Southern Punjab match on Friday.

All-rounder Aamer Yamin, who has replaced Maqsood as captain, came for the toss and explained the situation.
"Sohaib bhai wanted to focus on his batting and he himself backed this decision," said Yamin following the toss against Balochistan.
Later, Southern Punjab’s coach Sajjad Akbar also confirmed that Yamin will lead the side for the remainder of the tournament.
Maqsood had responded to the criticism over his selection for the T20 World Cup squad in style with a solid performance in the National T20 Cup match against Northern, couple of days back, where he scored a phenomenal 75-run knock off just 47 balls.
