Sri Lanka has encountered a significant setback as the experienced fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera will miss the upcoming series against India due to injury.

The series, featuring three T20Is followed by as many ODIs, is set to commence later this month.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will soon name a replacement for Chameera, who has faced numerous injury challenges despite his considerable talent.

Since his debut in 2015, the 32-year-old has taken a total of 143 wickets across 12 Tests, 52 ODIs, and 55 T20Is.

Potential replacements for him in the T20I squad might include Asitha Fernando or Pramod Madushan.
