Sri Lanka's cricket team has been plagued by injuries in recent times, with yet another setback as fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against India.

This follows the earlier exclusion of Matheesha Pathirana, further compounding the team's injury crisis. In response, Eshan Malinga has been called up to replace Madushanka in the squad.

The loss of Madushanka is a significant blow for Sri Lanka, especially considering that their frontline pacers, Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara, are also unavailable for the series.

Earlier, Mohamed Shiraz was included in the squad as a replacement for Pathirana.

The three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and India is set to begin on Friday, August 2, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The same venue will host the second and third ODIs on August 4 and August 7, respectively.

Sri Lanka will be looking to recover from their recent 0-3 loss in the T20I series against India, which took place at the Pallekele International Stadium earlier this week.
