Thirimanne is looking forward to the upcoming limited-overs series against Pakistan

A video by Sri Lanka’s stand-in One-day International (ODI) captain Lahiru Thirimanne went viral on social media as it reminded Pakistan fans of the infamous video of the captured Indian Air force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.
While speaking in the video shared on his Twitter account, Thirimanne said that he is looking forward to the upcoming limited-overs series against Pakistan.
“We are really excited for the Pakistan tour,” said Thirimanne. “We want to showcase that we are as good as our tea.”

However, fans from Pakistan were quick to link Thirimanne’s video with the interrogation video of the captured Indian Air force pilot Abhinandan.
The Indian pilot’s words “Tea is fantastic” in the interrogation video took social media by storm earlier this year.
