After an impressive win against Karachi Kings, who are the defending champions, the Multan Sultans will be looking to register another victory and stay in contention for the playoffs of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who is currently the second highest run-scorer in the event with 326 runs, will hold the key for his side once again.

Sultans have won two matches, out of six, and are currently placed at the fifth position in the points table.

Meanwhile, Peshawar, after losing to Qalandars in the first match after the restart, bounced back to win against Quetta Gladiators to put themselves in a strong position to qualify for the playoffs. David Miller, 73 off 46, and lanky pacer Mohammad Irfan, 3/27, played a key role in Zalmi’s victory.

Zalmi are placed on third position in the points table with three wins from seven games.

Multan Sultans Head Coach Andy Flower: “It’s a tough ask for us to qualify for the playoffs, no doubt about that, from here, that’s the reality. I think we all understand that and that’s nothing to be afraid of. If anything, it takes a bit of pressure of us as no one expects us to qualify, so I expect our players to go out there and give everything…”.

Peshawar Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz: “The way boys started wasn’t good, but the experience came in from Kamran Akmal, and hats-off to Miller. Irfan is showing the attitude, and he’s a great guy. We are looking at the playoffs by taking it one-by-one.”
