Sydney Cricket Ground hosts its first ever Eid celebration event

For the first in its history, Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) hosted a dignified Eid celebration event in the dining room at Noble Bradman Stand. 

Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis, Australian pacer Brett Lee and former New Zealand Rugby star Sonny Bill Williams joined the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration along with Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Nick Hockley. High Commissioner of Pakistan Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri also attended the event.

Sports celebrities and attendees described the Eid celebration at the SCG as a historic and important opportunity to promote multicultural Australia and diversity in sports. 

Speaking on the occasion, Nick Hockley said that a festival like Eid held at Sydney's historic Cricket Ground highlights the positive steps towards diversity in sports. Speakers and the audience lauded the efforts of the host Kamil Khan who organized the historical event.

Meanwhile, Kamil Khan expressed his delight in hosting the celebration event on Twitter. He thanked the CEO of Cricket Australia and the Commissioner of Pakistan for gracing the event with their presence.
