Team management gets involved after Hafeez, Sarfaraz Twitter row

Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has complained to the Pakistan team management and the PCB’s Media Department after Twitter row with ex-captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

According to sources, Hafeez was surprised to see Sarfaraz’s reaction on his tweet, where he praised wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan.

Despite not saying this directly, Sarfaraz also seemed to suggest, through his tweets, that Hafeez should avoid being negative.

We are all behind Rizwan and wish that he plays many more amazing innings for our beloved country.

Hafeez is not a centrally contracted player as compared to Sarfaraz but, at the moment, PCB is not keen on taking any action against the duo. However, PCB has advised the players to comply with its social media policies and avoid any controversies.

Sources added that the relationship between Sarfaraz and Hafeez has never been exemplary, which has not been helped by the fact that the latter has tacitly criticised the former during various interviews.  

Sarfaraz had ignored this in the past but this time he finally ran out of patience and responded to Hafeez on social media.
