Right-arm fast bowler Haris Rauf and mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed are all set to make their international debut in the first Test match against England in Rawalpindi on December 01, 2022.

Haris, who leads Pakistan's white-ball bowling, was a strong contender to replace the injured Shaheen Shah Afridi in the home Test series against England.

Since his debut in 2019, the pacer has only played eight First-Class (FC) games.

24-year-old Abrar has played in 13 FC games, which gives him experience. He was named the best bowler in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23, which concluded yesterday in Lahore.

The first Test will likely feature three all-rounders from the Men in Green. Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, and Salman Agha will all be in the starting lineup. Pakistan's openers will be Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq.

Pakistan's likely XI for the first Test:

Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan (VC), Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Azhar Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Abrar Ahmed
