Pakistan secured their spot in the semi-finals of the 2024 Women's Asia Cup after India triumphed over Nepal with an 82-run victory at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Tuesday.

India, already in a commanding position, posted a formidable 178/3 in their 20 overs. Their bowlers then restricted Nepal to 96/9, solidifying their place in the final four. This win followed their earlier victories over Pakistan and the UAE.

Meanwhile, Pakistan needed a must-win against the UAE to qualify. They delivered a dominant performance, defeating the UAE by 10 wickets. Chasing a target of 104 runs, Pakistan's opening pair, Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali, showcased impeccable batting.

The Green Shirts reached the target in just 14.1 overs without losing a wicket. Feroza scored 62 off 55 balls, hitting eight fours, while Muneeba added 37 runs off 30 deliveries with four boundaries.

This victory marked Pakistan as the first team to win a match by 10 wickets in the history of the Women's T20 Asia Cup.

India maintained an unbeaten record with three victories in three matches, securing the top spot. Meanwhile, Pakistan secured second place with two wins out of three matches.

Nida Dar-led Pakistan will play the second semifinal on July 26th in Dambulla, while India will compete in the first semifinal on the same date at the same venue.
