The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Umar Rasheed as the new coordinator of the National High Performance Center (NHPC).

Nadeem Khan had been originally appointed for the position when former cricketer Misbahul Haq had been given the dual role of head coach-cum-chief selector.

The purpose of the position was to maintain communications with the provincial coaches and selectors and convey the findings to the chief selector, who would be busy with his duties as the head coach.

Nadeem Khan had left the position after being appointed as the Director of the NHPC. In the new system, the provincial coaches are working under the guidance of the NHPC.

On the other hand, Misbah has resigned from the position of chief selector. There are talks of reinstating the old version of the selection committee. PCB has not responded to any queries in the matter as of yet.

It should be noted that Umar Rasheed is the brother of the former Director Domestic Haroon Rasheed. Umar has previously worked under Nadeem Khan in United Bank Limited (UBL).
