Having previously represented Quetta Gladiators in PSL 6, Usman has now become an integral part of the Multan Sultans lineup in PSL 9
Multan Sultans' Usman Khan, recently shared insights on the leadership styles of two prominent captains, Mohammad Rizwan and Sarfaraz Ahmed.
While talking to ESPN cricinfo, comparing the two captains, Usman noted several similarities in their tactical approaches and their shared determination to secure victories for their respective teams. However, he highlighted a key difference in their emotional responses to on-field events.
According to Usman, Sarfaraz Ahmed tends to display more emotions and occasionally becomes tense during matches, while Mohammad Rizwan maintains a composed demeanor and refrains from blaming or scolding players, even in challenging situations.
"In some ways they're similar, in terms of their tactics and how they want to win games. Saifi bhai is a little more emotional and at times tenses up. Rizwan bhai never blames a player or scolds them if they've gone for runs. No one gets told they've cost the team a game. Strategically they're not dissimilar, but they way to they react emotionally and psychologically to on-field events can be quite different," Usman said.
Having previously represented Quetta Gladiators in the 2021 Pakistan Super League, Usman has now become an integral part of the Multan Sultans lineup in PSL 9. His stellar performance in the tournament, accumulating 373 runs in 6 innings, has positioned him as the third-highest run-scorer after Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 569 and 381 runs respectively.
