Pakistan-born Australian opener Usman Khawaja is unable to travel to India with his Australian cricket team due to a pending visa from the Indian government.

Despite players having their visas processed since early January, Khawaja is the only member who hasn't received approval in time.

Khawaja posted on his Instagram account early Wednesday afternoon to indicate he was yet to depart: “Me waiting for my Indian Visa like... #stranded #dontleaveme #standard #anytimenow.”

He is scheduled to depart from Melbourne to Bengaluru on Thursday, subject to the approval of his travel documents.

This is not the first time Khawaja has faced delays in traveling to India, having faced similar issues in 2011. The visa process for entry into India usually asks if the applicant or their parents are of Pakistani origin.

Khawaja is set to tour India as Australia's leading batter and winner of the Test player of the year award. He is determined to continue playing and proudly representing Australia despite previous delays.
