Former Pakistan pace maestro, Wasim Akram, has shared his insights and advice for the struggling left-arm pacer, Shaheen Afridi, to regain his form for the upcoming 2023 World Cup matches.

While speaking on a local media channel, Akram acknowledged Afridi's recent challenges and encouraged him to maintain confidence in his abilities as a wicket-taking bowler.

"He has been bowling well. Obviously, his confidence will be a bit low but he is a wicket-taking bowler. Even if he is not taking wickets, he need to just be normal and don’t try to do anything extraordinary. I’m sure one good spell and wickets with the new ball will get him back into rhythm,” Akram said.

It is worth noting that Shaheen has picked four wickets in three World Cup 2023 matches so far, at an average of 34.75 and an economy rate of 6.31.
