Pakistan fast-bowling legend Wasim Akram has named his dream bowling pairs, as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s campaign on social media.

In a video message, the left-arm great revealed that he would like to bowl alongside former pacers Sarfaraz Nawaz and Fazal Mahmood due to their unique bowling prowess.

"I've played with many great players like Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq but if I had to choose someone from the past it would be Sarfaraz Nawaz and Fazal Mahmood," said Akram.

"Nawaz was best known as the inventor of reverse swing while Mahmood's leg cutter was amazing," he added.

Mahmood is considered Pakistan’s first fast-bowling great, who took 139 wickets at a bowling average of 24.7 in 34 Tests. Meanwhile, Nawaz played 55 Tests and 45 One Day Internationals (ODIs) — claiming 177 and 63 wickets, respectively.

The 53-year-old also named Pakistan’s rookie pacer Naseem Shah among his dream bowling pairs.

"Talking about the future, I would go for Naseem Shah,” he said. “He is young but is a very fast bowler. He bowls at a speed of over 150 and has the ability to cross that."

During his illustrious career, Akram claimed 414 Test wickets while also bagging 502 ODI wickets.
