However, this didn’t go down well with Wasim Akram, who slammed Pakistan skipper for taking the jersey right after an embarrassing defeat.
"Babar should have not met Kohli in the ground. This was not the situation to meet Kohli openly. Babar should have taken the shirt privately from Virat," Wasim said on a local channel.
Rohit Sharma's 86 and an inspired bowling display helped India hammer Pakistan by seven wickets in their high-profile clash.
India bowled out Pakistan for 191 after their rivals collapsed from 155-2.
India then overhauled the total with 117 balls to spare to extend their unbeaten streak against their neighbours to eight in the 50-over showpiece tournament.
