WATCH: Controversial dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan in Melbourne Test

During the second Test match between Pakistan and Australia in Melbourne, a contentious decision marred Mohammad Rizwan's dismissal, leaving the wicketkeeper-batsman visibly stunned.

In the 61st over of Pakistan's second innings, Australian skipper Pat Cummins appealed for a caught behind, initially denied by the on-field umpire. Despite the initial decision, Cummins opted to review, suspecting a possible glove touch by Rizwan.

Upon review, the third umpire analyzed various angles and noted a spike as the ball passed the wrist band, prompting a reversal of the on-field decision. However, the hotspot technology didn't display any mark as Rizwan turned away from the ball at the critical moment. Convinced he hadn't made contact, Rizwan left the field incredulous.

Rizwan was batting at 35 runs, and Pakistan was chasing victory with a 98-run gap to bridge.

The Australian team aimed to secure the series win, having dominated the visitors with a 360-run victory in Perth.

Pakistan's historical performance in Australia has been disappointing, with a streak of 15 consecutive Test losses since their last win in 1995.
