WATCH: Shadab Khan takes insane diving catch to dismiss Afghanistan skipper

Shadab Khan took an insane diving catch in the first ODI against Afghanistan on Tuesday in Hambantota.

Afghanistan's batting lineup was already struggling at 3-2 after Shaheen Afridi's back-to-back breakthroughs, in their pursuit of a 202-run target.

In enters the sensational Shadab Khan, flying through the air like a marvel.

In a sequence that left spectators spellbound, Naseem Shah unleashed a short delivery, enticing Shahidi to go for a pull shot. However, Shahidi found himself grappling with the fierce pace and bounce of the ball, causing him to lose control.

With an almost successful attempt at clearing the square leg area, Shadab sprang into action. With a magnificent leap to his left, he deftly nudged the ball using his right hand, before clutching it securely as he returned to the ground.

This display of athletic prowess and sheer determination by Shadab at the forward square leg position was undeniably extraordinary.

As a consequence of his remarkable catch, Afghanistan's captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, departed the field without adding to the score, resulting in Afghanistan plummeting to a dire 3-3 within just four overs.
