Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson believes that Australia can overcome Pakistan and end their unbeaten streak in the current T20 World Cup.

Watson, who has represented both Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in the PSL, said that Pakistan's top-order needs to be wary of Mitchell Starc and the threat he poses.

"He [Starc] is primed and ready to go," Watson said in a video posted on his social media accounts.

The 40-year-old said that Starc has continued to improve and the stage is set for him to unleash himself, "Mitchell Starc has been getting better and is on fire. He has really found his rhythm."

Watson labeled Starc as a "big player for Australia" who has the potential and the skill to run through Pakistan's top order.

"He could break through this incredible Pakistan opening pair – Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. Starc has stepped up in big ICC events in the past and I think he will here as well. He is a big player for Australia,” said Watson.

Speaking about how Australia can put an end to Pakistan's dominant run, Watson said that Australia must not allow Pakistan to get into the contest and remain throughout the match.

"The Australians must not allow Pakistan to get into the contest. If Australia allows Pakistan into the game, they are so full of energy and will be hard to beat – almost impossible to beat," added Watson.

Pakistan faces Australia today in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Stadium. The winner will meet New Zealand in the final of the tournament.
