Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board's management committee, Najam Sethi, announced that the board has chosen to rehire Mark Coles as head coach of the national women's side.

During lunch on the second day of the first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand, Sethi stated that foreign coaches are the solution for national teams, just like they were in his previous tenure.

"We need to bring foreign coaches so that the favouritism culture finishes. We are bringing back Mark Coles as women's team coach," he shared.

Coles was the head coach of Pakistan's women's team from 2017 to 2019. He left after Ehsan Mani was appointed chairman of the PCB.

When asked about the women's league launched by former chairman Ramiz Raja, Sethi replied they needed to think about it.

"It's important, and we will keenly think about it. We are modern and can organize a franchise league for women cricketers," he said.

According to reports, Pakistan men's team coach Mickey Arthur is also set to return to his prior position. He is now under contract with Derbyshire County for three years.
