Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has said that the players of the Men in Green are not answerable to anyone and are working collectively to improve on weaknesses.

The 30-year-old played a match-winning performance of an unbeaten 78 in the opening match of the tri-series against Bangladesh as Pakistan won the game by 21 runs.

While speaking to reporters after the game, Rizwan responded to a question regarding criticism and said, "We are not answerable to anyone, we are trying to fulfill our duties. Whoever is asking questions, if they are thinking about Pakistan, I salute them. I hope they want betterment."

Rizwan stressed coaches are working on the weaknesses of the players. "We know, we are weak in some areas, there is no doubt about it. But, team management and players are working on it," he added.

Meanwhile, Rizwan said that he doesn't think much about being number one, saying he tries doing what the national team needs.

India's Suryakumar Yadav is only 16 points behind Rizwan for No.1 spot. "I am not thinking about being number one. I am trying to fulfill what Pakistan needs. Thinking of number one and man of the match leads you to negativity."

"Suryakumar Yadav plays well and I like the way he plays. It must be noted that top order and middle order are different things," he added.
