Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah believes that a spin bowling coach will be beneficial for the national side.

According to Daily Express, Shah, who has represented Pakistan in 35 Tests, 25 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 Internationals (T2OIs), urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint a spin bowling coach for the betterment of country’s cricket.

“I think appointing a spin bowling coach will be beneficial for Pakistan cricket,” said Shah while speaking to media at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi. “There is lack of good leg-spinners in the country which is why PCB needs to turn their attention towards this issue.”

The 33-year-old, who is playing for Balochistan during the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam (QeA) Trophy tournament, also pointed out the difficulties faced while working alongside a foreign coach.

“I have benefitted more while working with a local coach as compared to a foreigner. The language barrier is also a significant issue, for me, when seeking help of a foreign coach,” he said.

The Swabi-born also brushed aside rumours about being injured, ahead of the domestic season.

“That’s not true because I had participated in the pre-season camp ahead of this match and today I‘ve bowled more than 30 overs,” he said.

Balochistan, led by Pakistan middle-order batsman Haris Sohail, began their 2019-20 domestic campaign with their match against Sindh, captained by Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed, on September 14 at the UBL Sports Complex in Karachi.
