There is uncertainty about India's readiness to visit Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, with bilateral cricket between the two countries having been on hold since 2013.

According to Champions Trophy draft schedule, India’s matches are to be held in Lahore, but the BCCI is reportedly hesitant, proposing a hybrid model instead. This could mean star batter Virat Kohli might never play a match in Pakistan. Kohli, now retired from T20Is, focuses on ODIs, Tests, and the IPL.

Former captain Younis Khan has urged India to visit Pakistan, calling it the "only thing left" in Kohli's career.

“Virat Kohli should come to Pakistan for 2025 Champions Trophy. It is our wish too. I think the only thing left in Virat’s career is to tour Pakistan and perform,” Younis Khan to News24.

Kohli played a bilateral series against Pakistan during their limited-overs tour in India in December 2012. The 35-year-old has consistently performed well against Pakistan in both white-ball formats in the Asia Cup and World Cups but hasn't faced them in Test cricket yet.

According to an Indian media report, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has left it to the ICC to convince the BCCI to send its team to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy, scheduled for early next year.

The report added that while the Champions Trophy budget was approved at the recent ICC meetings in Colombo, the schedule and format were not discussed.
