Veteran all-rounder Ravi Bopara is confident about the Peshawar Zalmi squad assembled for the upcoming sixth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL), due to begin from February 20 in Karachi.

While speaking on Peshawar Zalmi’s Youtube channel, Bopara said that his team would be banking on their experienced players in the upcoming tournament.

“I like the team that we have got, some of the experience players that we have here, they are fantastic players like Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz and, Ammad Butt. I think all the players we’ve got are very experienced. Kamran Akmal as well, who is one of the best batsmen in the PSL as his record shows so it’s a very strong and dangerous team,” said Bopara.

Bopara was happy to be back in Pakistan for yet another PSL season and shared his experience regarding the quarantine period.

“Yeah, I feel very good about myself, back in Pakistan playing the PSL. It’s nice to be joining Peshawar Zalmi, I think it’s a fantastic franchise. We’ve always been a tough opposition to play against, we’ve always had a very good record in the PSL so it’s nice to join them and play with some of the players I have played with before,” he said.

“Everyone is looking good. Quarantine is never easy, you stay in your room for three days, you can’t move around and you come out a little bit stiff. You can sometimes become tired by staying in your room. The first day is always difficult. I think the next few days we can get better and get ready for the first game,” he added.

The all-rounder is aiming to secure the PSL 6 title for Zalmi and requested the fans to keep supporting the franchise.

“My message for Zalmi fans is that I know you can’t be at the ground with us to watch us live but please support us at home. I know there’s a big Zalmi network and a big support base, we love you all, we respect you all, and please keep cheering for us. Hopefully, we can bring you the trophy,” he concluded.
