Top-order batsman Fakhar Zaman is unfazed by the change in his batting position while representing Pakistan in T20 Internationals (T20Is).

While speaking to Cricket Pakistan in an exclusive interview, Zaman said he is happy to adjust his position according to the team requirements.

“I have played my entire cricket as an opener. When you have a particular number, you enjoy playing at that number. However, when you play for Pakistan, you have to adjust according to the situation,” Zaman said.

The 31-year-old added that the team combination required him to play at one down during Africa tour, as Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan were already doing an excellent job as openers.

“The kind of situation there was in Africa tour, it required me to play down the order, because Rizwan and Babar were playing so good as openers,” he said.

“The kind of form they are in, I hope they continue it. They took me into confidence, so I had no problem playing at one down. I am happy that our opening combination is performing well in T20 Internationals,” he added.
