Zimbabwe has unveiled its 17-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India. Leading the team is star all-rounder Sikandar Raza, while the Belgium-born Naqvi Antum has also earned a spot.

Notably absent from the squad are prominent players like Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, and Ryan Burl.

Making their return to the squad are Tendai Chatara, Milton Shumba, and Wesley Madhevere, adding experience and skill to the youthful lineup.

Zimbabwe hopes this blend of fresh talent and seasoned players will prove successful against an equally young Indian squad.

This series marks the debut of Zimbabwe's new head coach, Justin Sammons, who took over from Dave Houghton following Zimbabwe's failure to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024.

The inclusion of Sikandar Raza and his continued captaincy indicate his commitment to playing in the next T20 World Cup, should Zimbabwe qualify.

Raza’s vast experience and skill set are seen as crucial for guiding the young team as they aim to build towards the T20 World Cup in India.
