Fawad Alam completes another milestone

Pakistan middle-order batsman Fawad Alam has completed 11,000 runs in first-class cricket during the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match in Lahore.

Alam’s good form with the bat in domestic cricket has stretched into another season as he notched up his 29th first-class ton against Lahore Blues.

Not only Alam scored his 29th century, but also completed 11000 runs in domestic cricket — which is the second highest ever by Pakistan batsmen. Former Pakistan opening batsman Saeed Anwar holds the record of most runs in domestic cricket with 11,198 runs.

The 32-year-old — who represented Pakistan in three Tests, 38 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 24 T20Is — struck 15 boundaries and a six to score an unbeaten 136 for his side Sui Southern Gas Corporation Limited (SSGCL).

With help of Alam’s knock, SSGCL managed to put up a huge total of 329 runs on the board. Umar Amin and Umaid Asif also played key knocks of 109 and 44 runs respectively.
