Luke Ronchi, the current batting coach of the New Zealand cricket team, is currently in negotiations with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the head coach position for the Pakistan cricket team.
Media reports suggest that PCB officials are in talks with Ronchi, yet matters concerning finances and other aspects remain unresolved.
The report further added that the 42-year-old is carefully considering the offer and has requested some time to make a final decision.
This recent development comes after Shane Watson, Mike Hesson, and Darren Sammy turned down offers to coach the national team.
It's worth noting that Ronchi had declined a previous offer from PCB last year, leading to the appointment of Grant Bradburn as head coach.
PCB officials are handling the coaching matters with caution and confidentiality as they work towards finalizing the deal. However, they are refraining from confirming these developments at this stage.
The wicket-keeper batter has been a prominent figure in Pakistan cricket, notably representing Islamabad United in the 2018 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). During this season, he emerged as the tournament's leading run-scorer and was awarded the man of the match in the final against Peshawar Zalmi. His match-winning innings played a crucial role in Islamabad United lifting the PSL title for the second time.
