India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was thrilled by the ‘wonderful’ Test match between West Indies and Pakistan that resulted in a one-wicket victory for the hosts on Monday.

The 34-year-old took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the nail-biting encounter.

“What a test match #WIvPAK is turning out to be!” Ashwin tweeted.

The Indian spinner realised that this encounter would go down to the wire.

“Heading for a grand finish! #WIvsPAK #testcricket,” he tweeted. 

Ashwin congratulated West Indies for the win while praising the quality of the match.

"Well done West Indies. Bad luck to Pakistan! It was a wonderful Test match,” he tweeted.

The second Test between the sides will start on August 20.
