Sethi, PCB embroiled in court battles

Issues amounting to millions of rupees are yet to be resolved between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and former PCB chairman Najam Sethi. Both parties have approached the court in this regard.

Sethi faces charges such as receiving unapproved allowances and potentially making unimportant hiring’s. According to sources the former chairman received PKR 1,41,81,570 under the guise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) allowances. The new PCB management has put this transaction on hold.

Sethi approached the court in this regard. In response, the PCB filed a petition against Sethi to return PKR 72,74,429, that the former chairman received in allowances and benefits. This issue has not been resolved till today.

According to sources the PCB is conducting further investigations on various matters that concern the former chairman. During his four-year tenure as the chief of the executive committee and chairman of the PCB, Sethi hired 207 officials. A few of these individuals held dual roles in local newspapers and the PCB. Many of these officials have already been removed by the PCB.
