The squad for the ODI series against the Netherlands will be announced this week.
According to details, the Men in Green will play their inaugural bilateral ODI series against the Netherlands next month. Rotterdam will host the three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches on 16, 18 and 21.
A short camp for the national squad will also be held before departure to Rotterdam on August 11 or 12, the location of which will be decided after viewing the rain situation of the cities.
According to the sources, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is likely to be included, but the final decision will be made after the approval of the PCB medical panel and the opinion of the team management.
The selection committee has started consultation to finalize the names of the players. Only one or two changes are expected in the team from the ODI series against West Indies
The name of Shaun Masood, who has performed well in county cricket, is being considered. Looking at the conditions, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf can be made a part of the squad in place of leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood. Young wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris will get another chance.
