Want to win matches for Pakistan with my batting: Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan's leading pace bowler, Shaheen Afridi, is excited to contribute to Pakistan's victories with his batting skills.

Shaheen garnered attention with his impressive performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8, scoring 133 runs in eight innings at a remarkable strike-rate of 168.35.

As the team prepares for the upcoming limited-overs series against New Zealand on home turf, the 23-year-old is working hard on his batting skills during the ongoing training camp in Lahore.

“I had interest in batting since U19 days but never did that properly. However, that has changed recently. During my rehab, I did a lot of batting practice,” Shaheen said.

“I’m gradually learning the art of batting so that it helps Pakistan. I would like to win matches for Pakistan regardless of my batting position,” he added.

The Men in Green are currently gearing up for five ODIs and T20I matches against the Black Caps. The first T20I is scheduled to take place on April 14 in Lahore.
