The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to include former cricketers Wasim Akram and Misbahul Haq in its cricket committee.
According to Daily Express, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani met Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday where important matters concerning the board were discussed. The formation of a cricket committee was also on the agenda during the meeting and Akram and Misbah emerged as frontrunners to be a part of it.
Earlier during an exclusive interview with the newspaper, Mani had also shared his desire about forming a cricket committee consisting of former cricketers for the betterment of Pakistan cricket although he refrained from explicitly stating names of individuals who were in contention for the position.
“The cricket committee will only include former cricketers because they have a thorough understanding of the game,” he said. “I don’t want to talk about individuals but the people selected to represent the committee will include those who can make a positive contribution to Pakistan cricket."
