Chairman PCB Cricket Committee pointed out areas of improvement ahead of mega event
Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Cricket Committee Mohsin Hasan Khan has said that quality all-rounders will be key to Men in Green’s success, during the International Cricket Council (ICC) 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.
While talking to a private channel, Khan stressed on the need to further boost the performance of Pakistan’s available all-rounders, if the team wants to win the upcoming mega event.
He also termed mental fitness as more important than physical aspect for the players. He added that during the recent ODI series with Australia, Pakistani players could not show good performance due to lack of mental toughness.
Speaking about Pakistan’s chances during the World Cup, Khan said national side are a strong outfit and will do well during the event.
Talking about the bowling department, Khan said that the team has the option of six to seven fast-bowlers for selection, who can perform well in next World Cup. But he also added that due to change of the weather conditions in England, they could also select spinners.
The former opener also lauded the efforts of PCB for providing good facilities to the players, in terms of training and coaching in all fields including batting, fielding and bowling.
