The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ehsan Mani has been offered the position of the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

According to sources, the board members of the sport’s governing body want Mani to be appointed for the role. They have sent a request to Mani to take over the position and the matters associated with the ICC. The board members believe that Mani is the right person to lead the ICC in the post-coronavirus period by chalking out when series and events can take place along with solving the dilemma of appointing the next Chairman.

A road map for the appointment of the new Chairman will take shape after a teleconference on June 10. The ICC’s financial situation along with the internal problems has created a need for someone with the experience of Ehsan Mani. He has already fulfilled the same role in the past and is capable of guiding the ICC in the right manner.

A PCB official also confirmed the news when approached regarding the matter.
