All-rounder has 14 days to respond to charges
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show-cause notice to all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez for criticising the International Cricket Council (ICC) for their part in dealing with suspect bowling actions.
Hafeez, who for the third time, cleared his action recently after being reported for a suspected bowling action in the series against Sri Lanka last year, passed those remarks about the cricket governing body in an interview to a British media outlet, where he questioned the procedure.
Hafeez claimed that he could not understand why his bowling action was declared illegal which had a 16 degree bend, but bowlers who have 25 or 30 degree bends are not being reported.
Those claims brought the veteran all-rounder in hot waters as he is now supposed to respond to the PCB’s show cause notice in 14 days’ time.
In that interview, Hafeez also questioned the selection policy after being ignored for the T20I series against West Indies even after consistent performances with the bat.
